Have you ever felt that if God hadn’t been there for you, you never would have made it? I have and I do. Without God, I am nothing. But with him, I can do anything he wants me to do. God makes all the difference in my life. How about you?

If God hadn’t been there for me,
I never would have made it.
The minute I said, “I’m slipping, I’m falling,”
your love, God, took hold and held me fast.
When I was upset and beside myself,
you calmed me down and cheered me up.

(Ps. 94:17-19, MSG)

I can attest to the words of the Psalmist here. Without God, I never would have made it. God’s help in my life has been very tangible. When I’ve been weak, God has been strong. And when I lost everything but God, he was more than enough.

And he continues to be more than enough. When stress tries to take over, I will cry to God and he calms me down, every single time. God’s help is real and I can count on him. And so can you. You don’t have to manage on your own.

Without God, I never would have made it

In order to have the courage to continue in the midst of storms, we need to keep our eyes on the Lord. That’s where our help comes from. And this is not wishy-washy thinking but something God’s people have experienced for thousands of years.

Don’t try to leave without God’s help. It does not make you a better Christian, just a weak one. What does make you a ‘better’ Christian then? Surrendering to Jesus and asking for his help, letting God be all he wants to be in and through your life, and inviting God to empower you to become all he has created you to be.

That’s what we all want, we just too often look for it in the wrong places while God is patiently waiting for us to come to him. Let’s not waste any more time or energy and run to him.

Gracious God,
Forgive us for searching for meaning anywhere but in you.
Yet you patiently love us and wait for us.
We want to come to you,
bless us, guide us, help us.
Without you, we will never make it.
But with you, we will. Joyfully.
Be praised forevermore!
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

P.S.

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim. God is with you. Always. And he offers to help you. Receive it. And enjoy God whether it rains or shines. True happiness is found in God and his promises. Trust him and his promises. Build your life upon them and you will not fail. Blessings upon blessings!
