Do you feel small? It’s not necessarily a bad thing. Especially, if you remember feeling small before the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. It is awesome that God Almighty loves us as we are. We are small but God cares and even wants to form a deep connection with each and everyone of us.
When I look up at your skies,
at what your fingers made—
the moon and the stars
that you set firmly in place—
what are human beings
that you think about them;
what are human beings
that you pay attention to them?
(Psalm 8:3-4, CEB)
Do you know that you are a miracle? Of course, compared to the whole wide world you are just a small entity but nonetheless you are a miracle. It is indeed amazing how the human body is formed and how it works. How we are able to learn things and make meaningful connections. With other human beings, of course. But, especially, with God Almighty.
Then you will call on Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear [your voice] and I will listen to you. Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:12-13, AMP)
God created us to be in relationship with him. Sin messes things between us. But sin doesn’t have the last word. Grace clears the messes. Thanks to Jesus, we are once again able to form special connection with God.
God has put a deep longing for God within us. We need him, we require God as a vital necessity for our well-being and happiness. And we do find him because God wants to be found. God wants to have a deep connection with each of us.
How to have that deep connection with God? Seek him. Continuously. Talk to him. Listen to him. Obey him. Bring everything and anything to him. Ask for help. Ask for advice. Do as he says. Thank him. Praise him. Live your life with him. That’s the recipe for fulfilling life.
Deep connection with God is not just a possibility. It’s an opportunity to experience heaven on earth.
I praise you.
You are the creator of the universe
yet you love each and everyone of us.
Thank you for the standing invitation to abide in you.
Thank you for wanting deep connection with me.
Draw me to yourself daily.
Show me what it means to have an intimate relationship with you.
Become my vital necessity, Lord.
Be my everything.
In Jesus’ name,
Q4U: Is God your vital necessity?
