Grace Is God’s Power for Us

Grace Is God’s Power for Us

God's grace is powerAre you struggling with life? Or are you at the end of your rope? I have good news for you. First of all, you are loved. And, second of all, God wants to help you. I know, it is a bit astonishing. But God did not send Jesus to save you and then leave you to manage on your own. The Holy Spirit is here to help us out. We just need to ask for help. This is not an empty promise and God is not out of power. Quite the contrary. Grace is God’s power for us, still active here and now.

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. (Eph. 1:17-23, NIV, emphasis added)

Grace is God’s power for us

Did you catch that? The same incomparably great power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in all who believe in Jesus. Wow. The very same power that raised Jesus is for you. Hallelujah. Why then do we not know about it and/or why do we not use it? Grace is God’s power for us. Without it, we can’t live according to God’s standards and plans for us. But with this awesome spiritual power in us, we can. Hence let’s use it. Let’s ask God to pour out grace upon grace, so much grace that we truly are empowered for Christian living and service.

Now I’m turning you over to God, our marvelous God whose gracious Word can make you into what he wants you to be and give you everything you could possibly need in this community of holy friends. (Acts 20:32, MSG)

We are not to forget that grace is God’s power for us. First to save us but then to empower us. Everyday. Everywhere. How awesome our God is. He will make sure that we will make it home to him. And get to know him better in the process.

Gracious God,
We praise you.
You are more awesome than we can understand.
Thank you for loving us without limits.
Pour out grace upon grace on us.
Empower us, encourage us, uplifts us.
Heal us, clean us, fill us with your Spirit.
In Jesus’ precious name,
Amen

Q4U: Do you know grace is God’s power for us? Do you let it work in you and change and empower you? Do so. You will be blessed.

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you embrace God’s grace as your own power for Christian living!
