Evidence of the Power of Grace

Evidence of the Power of Grace

Evidence of the power of grace

It’s no secret I adore God and his amazing grace. I’m in awe of its power and crazy about the fact it is meant also for God’s children. For you and me. It is wonderful to be saved by grace through faith in Jesus for sure. But is that all grace is? Shouldn’t there be some evidence of the power of grace in our lives too?

I think so. That’s why I was so delighted to stumble upon this tweet by Paul David Tripp: “Every time we do what is good, every time we resist evil, every time we make a wise choice and every time we love as we have been loved, we become evidence of the presence and power of God’s grace.”

For we are what he has made us, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand to be our way of life. (Eph. 2:10, NRSV)

Our good works are not our doing. It’s not us, it’s God’s grace in us that enables us to do any good at all. That’s evidence of God’s grace. When we bear fruit, we bring glory to God. That’s evidence of the power of grace at work in us.

For it is [not your strength, but it is] God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure. (Phil. 2:13, AMP)

Evidence of the power of grace

We can’t buy evidence of the power of grace. And we can’t force spiritual fruit to appear. It’s all God, all grace from start to finish. Our place is to abide in Christ and when we do that, evidence of the power of God’s grace just oozes out of us.

Just as we can’t hide the aroma of Christ, we can’t hide evidence of God’s grace. People will notice. And that will bring glory to God. Our God is just that wonderful. Always with us, blessing and cheering us on.

So let’s abide in Christ and let him freely work in and through us. That’s the sure way to become evidence of the power of God’s grace. Thank you, Jesus!

Gracious God,
Thank you for being the power in our lives.
We rest in you and welcome you to work in and through us.
Please, do as you see fit.
Enable us to become evidence of your grace
and bring glory to you.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Q4U: Is there evidence of grace in your life?

Be blessed, my fellow pilgrim, as you learn to surrender your life to Jesus so you can become evidence of grace!
